The graphics and artworks were better in the older games. Even on the lowest setting the sky was constantly glitching. It had to be on the lowest setting to run smooth, medium setting was laggy, high graphics crashed it. There are so many games that come out in less time with immensely better graphics. This took FIVE YEARS it should have been amazing. There was none of the nostalgic music that give the Nancy vibe. Nancy's voice and all her silly sayings was an important part of what made the games special.
The new Nancy voice is lame, another reviewer said it sounded so generic they could never tell who was talking because the voices all sounded the same - I couldn't have put it better myself. Our whole family was shocked that they even released it like this. We were not expecting it to be great, but we never could've imagined it being as bad as it was. Music is different, Nancy's voice is different, quality, graphics, controls, puzzles, everything is different. This does not feel like a Nancy game, it feels like something entirely different. There is zero nostalgic feel, because there's not a single aspect of the game the resembles the old ones. Nancy has always had a special place in our lives and something we looked forward to every 6 months. My sister and I started playing these games with our mom when we were kids. Are the ghosts real? Has Salem's dark history come to life, or is there someone else to blame? Time is short, and Nancy must find the answers before the clock strikes midnight. As Nancy races to uncover the truth behind the arson, she discovers connections to the house's past with the Salem trials and finds herself drawn into a struggle with supernatural events that she simply can't explain. The ongoing investigation has turned up little evidence but concerned citizens have accused Mei Parry of arson and are pressuring the police to arrest the secretive teenager. When Tuttle passed away, the estate became city property and while the mayor was seeking a manager to oversee the estate the home burst into flames. The Hathorne House was originally constructed by Judge John Hathorne, inquisitor of the infamous Salem witch trials and the final home to 102-year-old Frances Tuttle, his last direct descendant. Set in Scotland, you’ll dodge bullets, use cool spy tech, and zip-line between buildings as you race the clock to stop a terrorist attack! Also you’ll make cookies.Nancy Drew unexpectedly finds herself in Salem, Massachusetts investigating an arson on the Hathorne estate. Nancy questions everything she thought she knew about her dead mother in The Silent Spy, which is easily the most exciting game of the series. This game scared the pants off at least one grown man (link contains spoilers!), so it’s not just my wimpy self saying that. The place is haunted by past tragedy and a frankly terrifying spirit. In Shadow at the Water’s Edge, you stay at a melancholy, unsettling Japanese inn. What’s so fantastical about that? The castle is plagued by a banshee, and to learn her secrets, you must pick your way through a gloomy bog to an old crone’s hut! As for the sci-fi part, well, that would be telling. The Haunting of Castle Malloyfinds Nancy in an old Irish castle, searching for a missing bridegroom. There’s also a cute romantic subplot between two of the side characters, but I won’t spoil it for you. While visiting an Arizona ranch, Nancy uncovers the ill-fated Wild West romance between an outlaw and a sheriff’s daughter…and the lost treasure that the outlaw had intended for his beloved. At least the sets are nice! Romanceįor you love lovers out there, I recommend The Secret of Shadow Ranch, based on the Nancy Drew book of the same name. Or, if you prefer Greek mythology, there’s Labyrinth of Lies, which is set in a Greek museum with a major forgery problem. Meanwhile, all of your suspects are trying to put on a play based on the myth of Persephone and Hades. In order to solve this case, you’ll have to brush up on your Egyptian mythology and use that knowledge to evade the tomb’s many deadly traps. Tomb of the Lost Queen has Nancy join an accident-prone archaeological team that may or may not have discovered an Egyptian queen’s tomb. This is a twofer, because both of these games rely heavily on mythology to craft the story, the puzzles, and the crime.
